The mysterious mechanism of a music box keeps playing different versions of the same melody. In isolation and an atmosphere of fear you might think that other melodies do not exist because it helps to bear the constant pain. False notes give hope for a better fate and freedom but no one knows what price they'll have to pay.

Ruriko's father is a well known scientist who's involved in secret research that even his family doesn't know about. Ever since he moved up to the research laboratory in Hokkaido, Ruriko hasn't heard from him. The only thing that reminded her of his warmth was the green music box that he’d left behind for her. She longed to reunite with her father. The little box played music that lifted her spirits, to a place where everything was perfect.

A short lived series, hosted by Bill Hayes and Florence Henderson, which presented live theater. Interpersed in the plays were songs that help convey the story but not written specifically for the production.

Citing the greed of superstar DJs and unimaginative, uninspired music as the reason fans were leaving the genre, it seemed at the time to be the lowest point for dance. Yet out of these ashes rose some of the most seminal dance record labels of today. 2003 was the year in which Toolroom, Size, Cadenza, Ed Banger, Refune, Armada and Buzzin Fly were born. Despite emerging in the toughest year for the music industry, these labels survived and were eventually flourishing in 2013, ten years later. This documentary tells the story of this explosive decade.
